Chapter synopsis: This chapter discusses Conservation Agriculture as a basis for sustainable soil, land and natural resource management and production intensification. It reviews the process of transforming conventional systems into Conservation Agriculture systems and provides an overview of the main practices and benefits possible in these systems and their potential contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The chapter also describes some of the global evidence of benefits from Conservation Agriculture systems as well as constraints and enabling conditions. The final section of the chapter draws some conclusions and policy implications regarding Conservation Agriculture systems.
