Chapter synopsis: Perennial CA systems offer a range of productivity and ecosystem benefits to resource-poor smallholder farmers as well as to larger-scale producers managing orchards and plantations. Given the attractive economic and environmental value-adding characteristics of perennial CA systems, it is expected that such systems will continue to expand worldwide in the coming decades. This chapter illustrates examples of perennial CA systems from Europe, Asia and Africa.
