Chapter synopsis: Urban forestry, defined as the planning and management of trees and associated vegetation in urban areas, has become well established across the globe. Its many contributions to resilient, sustainable and attractive cities have become well documented. This chapter focusses on urban forestry’s contributions to food provision. The chapter introduces the concepts of urban food forestry and urban foraging, presenting detailed case studies for each one. Finally, the chapter looks ahead to future research trends in this area.
