Chapter synopsis:

This chapter reviews the levers for increasing soil organic carbon stocks through agricultural management practices. It first provides an overview of the results of global meta-analyses of long-term experiments. It then goes on to discuss remote sensing techniques that contribute to the regional monitoring of land management practices, favouring carbon sequestration in the Walloon region of Belgium.
